tl;dr we were an outstanding generalist agency that amassed a vast network of very good recruiters that wanted help finding better places to work.
We started life nearly 7 years ago as a dirty, dirty generalist. Our ethos always was that if you’re a great recruiter you can fill any role. We actually did alright with this. We punched well above our weight and would consistently deliver for some pretty cool clients.
We grew more than our £1200 a day NED expected. Years went by, we ended up amassing a huge amount of followers that were recruiters. They kept asking us if we could help find them jobs and we kept saying no as we hated the Rec2Rec world (through bitter experience), but we eventually caved and repositioned ourself as a proper Rec2Rec, and have thrived, ever since.
When logistically possible, we actually go and visit a clients office. We do this for 2 main reasons. 1) it allows us to see, feel and absorb a culture. 2) it’s a great excuse to get out of our own office and expense a boozy lunch.
We have a very strict rule of not working with dick heads and we turn down close to 40% of potential clients and candidate, as they are, well, knob heads.
This has allowed us to offer rebates which are almost unheard of in the sector, as well as retention levels we’re genuinely proud of.
Easy ennit.
