Music and that …
I was in my local last night and it was a open mic night.
Loads of people had a go and the majority were really good in fairness, which made me miss the days of being in a band.
We were called The Blue Acorns (there’s a great story to this, but I won’t bore you with that now) and I was the drummer if you were wondering…
My first gig was on NYE 1999, a day before we found out if the millennium bug was going to just be hype or whether it would ruin the world as we knew it? Either way, nobody really cared that much and it was such an awesome feeling being up on stage with people dancing and singing along.
I loved being in a band, apart from it taking soooooo long to dismantle my kit at home, take it bit by bit to the car, then when arriving at the venue, taking it bit by bit to where we were playing, putting it together, and doing the same again to get it home. I do not miss that one bit!
Music used to be a passion of mine but isn’t that much anymore for some reason. But since I’ve started running, I’m finding myself listening to music on the radio a bit more on the way to work.
A song came on during this morning’s journey, which isn’t one of my favourites to be honest, but reminded me of one of my favourite YouTube videos – the link is below – thank me later.
Have an awesome weekend!
