Sunday’s best

Which day of the week is your favourite?

For me, Sunday has to be the best day and Monday the worst.

On Friday, only the back row were in. That’s me (Big Ron), Frank (Glen) and Jackson (Meg). We pretty much had our heads down most of the morning with a few wee and coffee breaks thrown in, then after lunch the Friday feeling was kicking in.

Just a few hours to go so we played a psychoanalysis game which was super fun (belly laughs all round and a few raised eyebrows) then had a conversation about which day of the week is best. Brain was a bit fried at that point so I lamely said I like every day of the week. This was me being lazy and not being bothered to think about a proper answer. Sorry Frank.

At Ox Seven on a Friday we are normally in the pub early doors and clock off a bit earlier. But having flexible working hours means you are never late and you never get a dirty look when you want to leave early. After all we are all adults and we should by now be able to manage our time effectively (shouldn’t we?)

No-one ever says I am going to start my diet on a Sunday. Sunday is all about food. Sunday brunch, Sunday lunch and is the most restful day of the week. A Sunday lie-in is the norm and a snooze in the afternoon after lunch  is nice (all those carbs!)

Wednesday apparently is the darkest day of the week and research shows it’s the day when most people commit suicide. Which is so completely and utterly sad.

Friday for most is the best as it marks the end of the working week and the beginning of the weekend.

And Monday for most people is the worst especially if you hate your job. We spend a third of our lives at work so find a job you love and work with people you like. Life is too short to work in a shitty job for a shitty company for people who do not appreciate you. Talk to us, we may be able to help you.

In life its important to enjoy every day and cherish every moment, you will never get that time back.

There is an ancient Sanskrit poem about living your best life and enjoying each and every day:

Look well to this day. For it is life, the very best of life.

For in it’s brief course lay all the truths and realities of existence

The joy of growth, the splendour of action, the glory of power

For yesterday is but a memory

And tomorrow only a vision

But today if well lived makes every day a memory of happiness

Ad every tomorrow a vision of hope

Look well therefore to this day

Namaste
