Our partner has manufactured medium to large high integrity, mission critical products for a broad range of high technology business sectors for more than 150 years. Based in the heart of Cambridgeshire, they are developing a World Class manufacturing facility for high integrity Nuclear Waste Containers.

As a CNC Machinist you will join a team of highly skilled and motivated associates in the early stages of production for high integrity Nuclear Waste Containers within our new word class facility.

What you’ll do:

  • Operate overhead cranes
  • Use measuring equipment
  • Like us, you’ll be passionate about quality and process improvement
  • Set and operate horizontal and vertical CNC machines – preferably with Fanuc control experience
  • Possess an understanding of machining processes, tooling and materials
  • You should be able to proactively resolve issues, identify improvement initiatives
  • Maintain 5S
  • Continually improve process efficiency

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualified/apprenticeship and demonstrable experience in CNC machining operations
  • Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • The confident operation and setting of CNC machines
  • An understanding of geometrical tolerancing
  • Fanuc experience
  • Experience in machining 316/Duplex Stainless steel
  • Knowledge of VSM and lean manufacturing would be a distinct advantage

What you get:

  • £36,000.00 per year
  • 42-46 hours rotating day/night shift Mon to Fri & Mon to Thurs
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
