If you have a passion for the M&E space and are a seasoned commercial buyer, this is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading building services firms driving the push to net zero.

An opportunity has arisen for a commercial buyer to join the team in Birmingham. My client are one of the leading decarbonisation firms in the UK, pushing the design, development and delivery of offsite-prefabricated renewable energy systems for the commercial marketplace. The company has doubled in size in the past 12 months and is predicted to do the same in the coming 12-18 months, so this is a great chance to get on-board.

Ideally, you will have 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or materials buying position, with direct experience of the M&E environment. You will work closely with various departments to ensure the smooth transition of all material ordering from technical submittal to full procurement, and through to final invoicing stage.

It’s difficult to list all of your responsibilities in this short advert, but some of the key areas include negotiating the best possible prices for M&E plant and materials with key suppliers, managing the delivery of materials to site in a clear and professional manner ensuring all are items are available when required and working to ensure all supplier invoices are cleared for payment in a timely manner. There is a huge responsibility to maintain new and existing supplier relationships for the good of the firm.

The package for this role is negotiable and will be more than competitive for the right candidate. Benefits include 30 days holiday, company pension, life assurance and organised social events to name a few. This is an office-based position working 40 hours a week; Mon – Thur 08:00am –17:00pm, Fri 08:00am – 15:00pm.

We appreciate this is only a snapshot of the role, so if you are interested and want to know more, call me, send me a message (Richard Lambert on LinkedIn), DM, or whatever is easiest. We encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply. We love seeing diversity in our applicants. We use specialist technology to ensure there are no gender biases in our adverts.

Every applicant will receive a response. We sometimes make mistakes and miss things from CVs, so you will be given an opportunity to receive feedback and discuss the role in more detail if you feel necessary.
