Estate Manager

Location: Burton upon Trent

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Industry: Barons Eden

Job posted: 09/01/2020

Type: Full time

Having high expectations isn’t always a bad thing.

You’ll have them for yourself and you’ll have them for your team.

By looking at the property you can see the dedication and effort that goes in to maintaining it and being in charge of that comes with a lot of responsibility.

Your day to day will be very varied. With it being a hotel and spa, this comes with another layer of pressures and deadlines. From plumbing and electrical works, to general (and extensive) maintenance, you’ll need to have experience in it all and be able to turn your hand to most jobs.

You’ll be incredibly hands on, ready to jump in and repair anything that may crop up and help the operation run smoothly and seamlessly.

But first and foremost, you’ll be a natural leader. Not a point-and-doer, but someone who can set an example and always be found doing exactly what everyone else is. You’ll be managing a small team so making sure everyone is efficient and doing what they should be in the safest way is important.

Since you’ll be working for a hotel, it’s likely you’ll end up having some guest interaction – so being approachable and helpful is ideal. Obviously, being a good manager, those skills come naturally, but it will need to stretch to the public, too.

Ideally, you’ll be a qualified electrician (at least 18th edition) and have a long background of management and strong leadership.

You’ll get £30,000 – £35,000 a year, meals on shift, complimentary use of the leisure and spa facilities, a spa day every year at a sister property, 30% discount of food and beverage and overnight stays and ongoing training and progression support.

If you’d like to chat further about it, you’re welcome to give me (Will Grashoff) a call (number on our website) or send me an email (again, on the website) and we can talk through the position. It’d be great if you had a CV to forward but I know not everyone has one to hand, so reaching out first is absolutely fine.
