Planned Maintenance Technician

Location Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary £38,000 - £41,000 per annum
Industry Manufacturing/Engineering
Date posted 30/10/2021
Contract type Full time

What does your factory smell like?

Stay with me…

If it doesn’t have a chocolatey aroma, then maybe you’re in the wrong job. Imagine that smell every day.

Your job is hard. Time and accuracy are of the essence here, you’ll be (for lack of a better phrase) ‘on it’, undertaking planned preventative routine maintenance across all equipment on site with a strong focus on health and safety regulations. You’ll also be performing fault finding and diagnostic work to understand the problems and then implementing permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Your experience in manufacturing (ideally FMCG food) means you’ll be accustomed to a similar environment. You won’t be fazed by a deadline, and you know the pressure which can ride on you at any given time. It’s not going to come as a surprise, and you’ll be able to handle it well.

You’ll need to have a strong engineering background. This will be underpinned by an ONC (or equivalent) in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline, and you will have successfully completed an apprenticeship scheme in that discipline. Furthermore, an Engineering Maintenance NVQ Level 3 qualification or higher, or equivalent, is also required.

Knowledge of PLC’s (preferably Siemens) is a must have. It would also be very beneficial if you hold 18th Edition wiring regulations, or equivalent.

‘You need to be a team player’ is a phrase that gets banded around all too easily, but it is very prevalent here.

You will have to be able to dovetail seamlessly with your peers. Some people work better on their own, but you’ll be part of a bigger picture here so if your work ethic is ‘me, myself and I’ this won’t be a good fit.

You’ll get a salary of up to £41,000 dependent on skill and experience, plus other plenty of other perks and all the free samples you could want.

The role works on a weekly rotating double-day shift pattern, Monday – Friday. One week the hours are 2pm-10pm and the following week the hours are 6am-2pm.

If you are interested or want to know more, call me, send me a message, DM, carrier pigeon – whatever is easiest. We encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply, we love seeing diversity in our applicants. We use specialist technology to ensure there is no gender bias in our adverts.
