Senior Payroll Officer

Location Senior Payroll Officer
Salary £30,000 - £35,000
Industry Finance
Date posted 17/10/2023
Contract type Full-time

If you’re currently working in a mid or senior payroll function and are looking for your next challenge, this opportunity could be the final move you make.

Our client is one of the UK’s largest food businesses, providing great tasting and high-quality poultry products to some of the biggest supermarkets and restaurants in the country. Due to a re-structuring program, they are now seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join the team.

The company currently pays around 6000 people across a variety of sites and functions using a mixture of weekly and monthly pay cycles. Experience in large pay-runs using similar formats is desirable. You will also be processing new starters, leavers, pay variations and will also need to be up-to-speed with the different state benefit provisions and processes around SSP, SPP, SMP and ShPP.

You will maintain excellent relationships with 3rd party service providers and ensure the brand and core values of the company are promoted to maximise market share. You will also be tasked with monitoring and processing expense claims where necessary, and liaising with pensions providers to ensure entitlements are accurate and up-to-date.

Our client places huge emphasis on training and developing all staff, and there is a possibility to gain additional qualifications to further your career within the organisation. The company believe in promoting and developing from within, so there are plenty of opportunities for career progression. Your working environment will be relaxed, but there is very much an emphasis on putting in the hard work. The team do socialise together, and regular work functions allow for great team bonding.

From a salary perspective you will be looking at between £30,000 – 35,000 with standard holiday allowances and a 5% matched pension. You will be expected to be office-based 5 days a week; Mon – Fri 8:30am – 5:00pm. Additional benefits include private medical insurance, death-in-service benefit, and company sick-pay.

We appreciate this is only a snapshot of the role, so if you are interested and want to know more, call me, send me a message (Richard Lambert on LinkedIn), DM, or whatever is easiest. We encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply. We love seeing diversity in our applicants. We use specialist technology to ensure there are no gender biases in our adverts.

Every applicant will receive a response. We sometimes make mistakes and miss things from CVs, so you will be given an opportunity to receive feedback and discuss the role in more detail if you feel necessary.
