Construction, costs, contracts – the three c‘s that are the bedrock of quantity surveying.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will need to have excellent knowledge in this area and have been involved in multiple projects covering the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors.
This is a role that requires a hands–on style with a bias towards commercial management. As such, you will need first-class communication skills and the ability to build rapport easily with your clients.
A key responsibility will be change control, which calls for an upfront and proactive approach to the management of change, requiring you to work closely with internal and external colleagues, in order to achieve positive outcomes.
You will also be maintaining a database of accredited sub-contractors, advising on procurement strategy, raising contract order documents and overseeing monthly payments.
It would be desirable if you have MRICS or MCInstCES status, or equivalent, and a qualification in a recognised project management method e.g Prince2. A degree in quantity surveying and commercial management would be extremely beneficial, along with a familiarity with the Highways England Project Control Framework Process.
The salary is on at up to £50,000 with a company car and other perks.
