I am looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join our global logistics client, based in Northern Ireland, about 90 minutes from Belfast.
So from the get go, having a background in global transport management is essential for this role as you will manage a team of planners and coordinators who ensure that machinery equipment is shipped and transported worldwide.
Now some of the shapes and sizes of the equipment is not conventional, so sometimes you will be playing a big game of Tetris for the more awkward loads.
You will understand strategic distribution modelling and be comfortable in large distribution environments (in fact, you will probably enjoy it). You will oversee the whole logistic process, so having done this in a post Brexit world is important.
You’re going to need to be comfortable client facing, as you will communicate with key clients and assist them with any complex haulage issues they have. You will also be instrumental in renegotiating terms with existing suppliers as well as sourcing new suppliers to ensure that everything runs as efficiently as it can –so demonstrable examples of doing this would be great to see as well.
Despite the fact the company has grown (and continues to grow), they have maintained a great ‘family feel’ environment, where they build people up and trust them to get the job done. You will work closely with the director of the business, who is very down to earth, which offers a great opportunity to absorb all of their knowledge!
This is a Monday to Friday office role in Dromore (not the one right by Belfast). They have a lovely rural office and have cultivated a brilliant culture, so you’ll enjoy being part of the team there!
Salary wise you will be looking at between £36,000 – £40,000 depending on your experience. You will also benefit from great career growth opportunities and work part of a fantastic progressive organisation.
If you are interested or want to know more, call me, send me a message, DM or e-mail – whatever is easiest. We encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply, we love seeing diversity in our applicants.
We use specialist technology to ensure there is no gender bias in our adverts.
Every applicant will receive a response. We sometimes make mistakes and miss things from CVs, so you will be given an opportunity to receive feedback and discuss the role in more detail if you feel necessary.
