This exciting role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday and you can choose you shift (12:00 – 20:30 or 13.3 – 22:00)

As a Transport Planner on the afternoon shift, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and success of fleet management. Your primary objective will be to maintain and update route plans for around 30 vehicles, adapting to any changes that may arise. Additionally, you will manage the driver debrief desk, adding an essential layer of control and coordination.

Your role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities. You will expertly plan and optimize routes, guaranteeing the punctuality of collections and deliveries. Your adaptability will be key as you swiftly adjust routes to accommodate evolving circumstances, ensuring operations run smoothly. Efficiently processing collections and deliveries, you’ll maintain compliance with ‘O’ license requirements and relevant legislation.

Your watchful eye will extend to overseeing orders, offering operational support, and managing KPIs, all contributing to smooth service, delivery and customer satisfaction. In addition, you’ll effectively manage resources, handle customer escalations, and compile incident reports when necessary.

With an eye on subcontractor management, you’ll ensure the efficient utilization of additional resources as needed, making your role pivotal in the team’s success.

To excel in this role, candidates are expected to meet specific criteria and possess essential qualifications. You should have a solid grasp of UK geography, allowing you to navigate routes effectively. As well as expertise in both automated transport routing systems and manual routing systems. Demonstrated experience in the field of transport planning is a must, combined with strong IT proficiency. The ability to thrive under pressure in a fast paced environment is essential with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, and a positive outlook!

Prior experience within the logistics sector is also considered a significant advantage!
